For Svisi, music isn’t just a passion. It’s a bridge between generations and a mirror of emotion. Growing up with a father who was a musician in the 70s and 80s, the idea of following in his footsteps always felt like a distant dream.
“It always felt like a dream that was unreachable to me,” she shares. “But then I just needed a creative outlet to communicate how I felt, and that became songwriting. Over time, I started taking my artistry more seriously, and I knew I had to be a musician.”
Early Influences and Musical Roots
Svisi’s sound is as layered as her upbringing. Raised between electronic art pop, girly pop, and blues, she draws inspiration from each genre and fuses them with her own perspective.
“I love to incorporate references from very different genres and give them my own twist based on my experiences and the way I see and feel life,” she explains. “I was brought up between electronic art pop, girly pop, and blues, and I try to honour these genres and all the others I come across.”
Her music captures contrast, from the soulful lows to the euphoric highs, finding beauty in both.
The Story Behind Her Upcoming Single
Svisi’s upcoming single was born from her love of storytelling through Ekphrasis, the art of creating a new work inspired by another.
“I love working with Ekphrasis, so writing a song based off another artwork,” she says. “In this case, I read Brokeback Mountain, the short story that inspired the movie, and I fell in love with the storytelling. So I wrote my own version of it.”
This literary approach gives her music an emotional and cinematic quality, turning fiction into melody and words into feeling.
Collaboration and Creative Community
Svisi believes in the power of collaboration and community.
“I work with a lot of great people, my amazing band, multiple videographers and filmmakers for my music videos, and photographers for my live performances,” she says. “In this industry, we all have to uplift each other and cooperate to help each other grow.”
Every visual, sound, and story Svisi shares is the result of collective artistry, a creative ecosystem built on trust and passion.
