From a last-minute gig to building an artist-first studio, Sundown—the creative force of Georgia and Archer—is proof that when passion meets purpose, magic happens.
Now thriving as a production and songwriting duo, the pair are best friends and founders of a space that’s become a sanctuary for emerging artists. In this exclusive feature, we spoke to them about their roots, risks, and why their studio isn’t just about recording music—it’s about empowering artists to find their voice and their confidence.
Music Was Always in the Air
For Georgia and Archer, music has always been more than a career—it was their first language.
“We both come from very musical and creative families, so we’ve been immersed in music from a young age,” they explain. They even grew up just down the road from each other in the same hometown, though their paths never crossed until fate (and a last-minute booking) intervened.
“Archer became my guitarist for a gig,” says Georgia. “We hit it off straight away and started sharing our experiences as independent artists and session musicians. That bond became Sundown—and the rest is history.”
Shaped by Sound: Early Inspirations
Georgia grew up with a love for musical theatre and choir singing, which still informs her rich vocal harmonies and storytelling style. “Listening to CDs in my dad’s car on the way to school, it was always theatre soundtracks or big, bold records like Electric Light Orchestra. I fell in love with how performance and emotion could tell a story.”
Archer, on the other hand, was raised in a house where Craig David, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dr. Dre, and Talking Heads all played on loop. “My parents were musicians, and my older brothers shaped my taste massively,” he says. “The live John Mayer album Where The Light Is really sparked my love for guitar.” His music now reflects this eclectic range of inspiration, blending emotional depth with technical detail.
The Studio Built from a Dream (and a Leap of Faith)
Both Georgia and Archer had been chasing their creative callings for years. Georgia released and continues to release music under the alias GLOWE, and Archer worked as a producer and session musician. But even as they honed their craft, they were balancing countless side jobs—from property management to hospitality—all while dreaming of something more.
“We were always staring out the window, thinking about making music,” they say. “So when we created Sundown, we quit our jobs and gave it everything. It was the best decision we’ve ever made—and we’ve never looked back.”
What drove them? Experience. “We’ve seen the good, bad, and ugly of the industry,” Georgia shares. “That’s why we wanted to build a positive, artist-friendly studio—a safe space for creatives to experiment, grow, and be heard.”
A Studio That Feels Like Home (Because It Kind Of Is)
Sundown Studio is intentionally designed to be the opposite of a cold, impersonal hire space.
“We work with emerging artists across all genres, and we always put the artist in the driver’s seat,” Archer says. “We’re both multi-instrumentalists, so whatever your vision is, we’ll help bring it to life.”
Whether that means recording three different mic angles on a guitar, chasing the perfect rain sound outside, or even tracking a song entirely in the garden, their commitment to detail is second only to their commitment to people.
Oh—and there’s a studio dog. Obviously!
Highlights, Breakthroughs & BBC Radio 1
From intimate acoustic sessions to national airplay, Sundown has had some seriously special moments.
“One of the most memorable sessions recently was recording a song entirely outside in the garden,” Georgia recalls. “The natural soundscape matched the mood of the song perfectly. It was a beautiful day, and we all left feeling really fulfilled.”
And it doesn’t stop there. “A track we made with Jade Morgan Kelly, called Delirious, was played on BBC Radio 1before it even dropped,” says Archer. “It was such a proud moment.”
Another standout? Their sold-out 1st Birthday Artist Showcase at Notting Hill Arts Club. “Seeing all the talent who helped shape our first year take the stage—it was emotional. A night we’ll never forget.”
More Than a Studio—It’s a Movement
Georgia and Archer are creating more than just great music—they’re building a culture of creativity, honesty, and collaboration. Their journey shows what’s possible when artists support each other, lead with intention, and dare to build the kind of spaces they once dreamed of.
Sundown isn’t just helping artists make music. They’re helping them believe in themselves.
