When the Melody Match team first met Naysa, her charisma was undeniable. Her bold, shimmering jewellery reflected the same star-like presence that made us certain we’d found something extraordinary. Blending grime’s grit with R&B’s soul, Naysa is tuning into a sound that’s completely her own frequency.
Finding Her Own Lane
Every artist starts somewhere, and for Naysa, that “somewhere” was close to home. Her brother, producer Uncle Moody, played a big part in her early musical journey.
“I’d always jump on my brother’s tracks,” she says. “But I wanted to figure out what my own sound was.”
That curiosity led her to start experimenting, recording covers, and finding her voice one track at a time. With a little push from her friend Oshunda, she released her first song, “Ring Around the Rosies.” The moment she put it out, something clicked – she realised she had momentum to keep going.
Creating Through Connection
For Naysa, music has always been about emotion and connection.
“Music to me is self-expression,” she says. “It’s connection – it’s being able to feel.”
You can hear that mix in her sound. Influenced by grime and old-school R&B, Naysa blends grit with groove, drawing inspiration from artists like JME and Skepta, whose authenticity shaped her creative edge. The result is a sound that feels both fearless and heartfelt.
+233: A New Chapter
Her upcoming single, “+233,” marks a bold new chapter. Named after Ghana’s country code, the track symbolizes connection, culture, and staying rooted wherever you go.
“When I played it in the studio, the energy was crazy,” she says. “Everyone was vibing and I loved seeing their reactions.”
According to Naysa, +233 is all about nostalgia and attitude – think old Ghallywood glam, think Van Vicker, but reimagined for the bad girls with a Y2K video-vixen edge.
That moment confirmed it – +233 captures a new level of confidence and clarity in her artistry.
Studio Vibes and Good Energy
When asked about her favourite studio moment, Naysa reflects:
“I haven’t had many studio sessions, but one that stood out was with my friend Oshunda when we were working on Big Bank. He was hyping me up – the energy was amazing. We even shot a fun little video, just good vibes all around.”
That sense of ease and authenticity carries through everything she creates to create a sound that’s driven by energy, connection, and joy.
Looking Ahead
From collaborating with her brother to crafting her own signature sound, Naysa’s story is one of growth and self-discovery. She continues to build meaningful connections with other artists and recently shared +233 in a studio session. After seeing her perform and meeting her after for a video interview, it’s clear that she’s not trying to fit into a box – she’s building her own. And with +233 on the way, it’s clear she’s only just beginning to turn the volume up.
